Bungie developing online console/PC title

A presentation slide from an Activision investment conference has seemingly confirmed that Bungie’s debut title for the publisher will be an online game for both PC and consoles.

As BigDownload points out, the game will be Bungie’s first PC outing since 2001 title Oni as the PC ports of both Halo and Halo 2 were handled by external developers.

Activision made the shock move of signing a ten-year exclusivity deal with the former Microsoft-owned studio back in April.

At the time Bungie cited the chance to go multiplatform as one of the key reasons for wishing to brand out from all things Halo and Microsoft.

Activision has been making lots of positive noises about the potential of online console gaming, so news that Bungie is concentrating in this sector is not a huge surprise.

However, Bungie’s confirmation that it is working on its own new, wholly-owned IP seemingly rules out any possibility that it could be working on a Call of Duty MMO.
