Akai Katana gets UK release date

Cave shooter Akai Katana will be released in the UK on May 11th, publisher Rising Star has confirmed to MCV.

The game is an Xbox 360 exclusive and marks the first official release of the Akai Katana series in the UK.

Following the fine work it did with previous Cave release DoDonPachi Resurrection, Rising Star is also going to great lengths to help newcomers to the bullet hell” genre ease themselves into the mayhem. A series of tutorial videos will be released online from May 7th on the official site.

Cave are world renowned for creating the biggest and best arcade shooters around, and we’re delighted to add Akai katana to that list, come May 11th,”Rising Star MD Martin Defries said.

No other arcade shooter offers the same explosive entertainment and wanton destruction as Akai Katana, and we can’t wait to let this lose on the public.”
