Assassin’s Creed 3DS canned for Revelations

Production on Lost Legacy, the 3DS installment in the Assassin’s Creed series, is believed to have been cancelled.

In an interview with Joystiq, Assassins Creed’s lead writer Darby McDevitt explained that the concept for Lost Legacy eventually became the basis for the upcoming November title. The 3DS project was then dropped in favour of Revelations.

"You may have heard of the game Lost Legacy for the 3DS. It was announced, but that kind of morphed into this idea," he explained.

Assassin’s Creed: Lost Legacy was originally announced at E3 last year, along with new titles from other massive third-party franchises. Among these was Saints Row: Drive By, which was also cancelled earlier this year.
