Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation headed exclusively to PS Vita

The PlayStation Vita is set to receive its first taste of Assassin’s Creed, with the release of Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation exclusively on Sony’s handheld.

According to Game Informer, Liberation will release alongside Assassin’s Creed III, which is set to hit stores on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC on October 31, 2012.

In a first for the franchise, Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation will feature a female protagonist named Aveline. The game, in development at Ubisoft Sofia, is said to play out over a 15-year period between 1765 and 1780.

The magazine also revealed that the game will feature multiplayer and make use to the Vita’s touch controls.
