AUS: Aliens vs Predator granted release

Having previously been banned from release by the famously strict Australian Classification Board, Sega has now confirmed that its Aliens vs Predator will be granted a MA15+ certificate and an uncut retail release in the territory.

It is with great pleasure that we announce the success of our appeal,” Sega Australia’s MD Darren Macbeth told IGN.

We are particularly proud that the game will be released in its original entirety, with no content altered or removed whatsoever. This is a big win for Australian gamers. We applaud the Classification Review Board on making a decision that clearly considers the context of the game, and is in line with the modern expectations of reasonable Australians.”

The Aussie censors were forced to defend their decision in the face of strong criticism from both the game’s developer Rebellion and God of War director David Jaffe.
