Bandai Namco is to distribute racing title Project Cars worldwide.
The crowd-funded game, which will hit Xbox One, PS4, Wii U and PC in November, is being developed by Need For Speed and Test Drive creators Slightly Mad Studios.
Project Cars has been partially designed in collaboration with the game’s community and will allow players to create a driver, pick from a variety of motorsports and compete to complete Historic Goals and enter the Hall of Fame.
Online competitive race weekends, leaderboard-based time challenges and community events will also play a part in the game, occasionally offering the chance to win real-world prizes.
Slightly Mad claims that the title features the largest track roster of any recent racing game”, complete with a dynamic time of day and weather system.
Support for the Oculus Rift and Project Morpheus virtual reality headsets will also be included.
We are tremendously happy to be collaborating with Slightly Mad Studios on this promising title, in which community expectations are fusing with racers expertise to craft the next generation of simulation,” commented Alberto Gonzlez Lorca, VP of third parties at Bandai Namco Europe.
Ian Bell, head of studio for Slightly Mad Studios, added: With a portfolio of prestigious, popular, and iconic titles under their wing, Bandai Namco are the perfect partners to bring our pioneering community-driven game to players around the world.”
