Black Ops for £4.97 at Asda

With just over 24 hours to go until retailers in the UK open their doors at midnight to welcome the arrival of Call of Duty: Black Ops, Asda has come out fighting in the High Street price war.

CheapArseGamer reports that the supermarket will sell the game for just 4.97 – that over 50 off the game’s official RRP – to anyone who trades in a cope of either Fable III, Fallout New Vegas or Force Unleashed II.

It’s the highest profile second hand offer the chain has run since going nationwide with its ‘Buy, Play, Trade’ offer last month.

Asda will also sell the game standalone for 36.97. It is also claimed that Tesco will sell Black Ops for 25 when purchased in conjunction with 2100 Microsoft Points or a 20 PSN card.

The deal undercuts HMV’s already aggressive promotion that will see Black Ops sold for just 7.99 to anyone who trades in a copy of EA’s Medal of Honor. GAME will sell the title for 25 when purchased alongside any other chart title in-store.
