Blizzard hoping for Starcraft 2: Heart of the Swarm launch in first half of 2013

Starcraft 2: Heart of the Swarm won’t be making its official release until sometime after the holidays.

Blizzard president Mike Morhaime announced during the company’s earnings call that the studio is hoping to have the next chapter in the Starcraft franchise out sometime before the end of June next year.

[We’re] working hard towards a first half 2013 launch,” Morhaime said in reference to the expansion.

Heart of the Swarm is currently in beta and aims to add several improvements and additions to the title.
