Call of Duty leads Activision’s six-strong Wii U line-up

Third party support for Nintendo’s new console has been erratic at best, but Activision has confirmed it will support Wii U with six titles this autumn, including Call of Duty: Ghosts.

The publisher has already said that it will be bringing its next blockbuster shooter to Wii U, but has now confirmed a range of other titles. Call of Duty: Ghosts will be released on November 5th.

Activision will also release the latest outing in its $1bn Skylanders franchise, Swap Force, on October 18th. The Wii U version will work with all toys from the original Spyro’s Adventure and last year’s Skylanders Giants, while the GamePad only mode will let kids play Swap Force while mum and dad control the TV.

Two Angry Birds games will be released for Wii U, starting with the original Angry Birds Trilogy –containing the first game, Seasons and Rio – on August 13th. Angry Birds Star Wars will be released on October 29th, complete with new multiplayer modes.

Finally, Activision will publish SpongeBob SquarePants: Plankton’s Robotic Revenge and Wipeout: Create & Crash, the latter being based on the popular TV game show. Both will arrive this autumn.
