Cloud9 acquire Dota 2 outfit Team NP just in time for TI7

Dota roster Team NP has been signed by esports outfit Cloud9, marking a return for all players to Cloud9’s fold.

For team captain Jacky ‘EternaLEnVY’ Mao and teammates  Adrian ‘Fata-’ Trinks, Kurtis ‘Aui_2000’ Ling and Johan ‘pieliedie’ Åström, it’s a return to the white and blue jerseys they wore as part of the original Cloud9 Dota 2 roster, formed back in 2014. The team’s offlaner, Arif ‘MSS’ Anwar, played with the organisation briefly in 2015.

The team will be donning the familiar jerseys for the first time at The International 7, which Team NP qualified for through the North American qualifiers ahead of their acquisition.

Cloud9’s former Dota roster was disbanded in May 2017, and while Cloud9 haven’t published a press release on their site regarding their new acquisition, they’ve confirmed the announcement on Twitter, Reddit and on the team’s store, where a 15% off sale has been started to commemorate Team NP’s acquisition.

In a comment on Reddit, Cloud9 CEO Jack Etienne said:

“I’m thrilled to be working with the boys again! All 5 players have been a part of C9 DOTA at some point and it feels like a long lost son has returned.

To celebrate the event we’re having a 15% off sale for C9 merch using the Discount Code TI7. You can get your Cloud9 merch to support the team at our store https://store.cloud9.gg/

2nd at TI confirmed

Update: For those asking Cloud9 takes 0% of TI prize money. (No 10% here)”
