The upcoming Kinect SDK for PC will come bundled with new key features not yet available to its vibrant hacking community.
The upcoming dev kit will include skeletal tracking for up to two people, as well as a four-way noise-cancelling microphone array.
It will also offer access to Microsoft’s voice recognition API.
It appears these features are hard to discover, or are not available, through existing open-source drivers.
In February, Microsoft announced it was working on an official Kinect SDK for PC hobbyists and academics, following months of inventive PC hacks.
The SDK beta has been pencilled in for a Spring release.
