Sony’s PS2 has been voted as the greatest ever games console by Amazon customers.
The machine beat its predecessor the PSOne in the final, with both the Super Nintendo and N64 falling in the semi-finals. The quarter finals saw defeat for the PS3, Mega Drive, Xbox 360 and PS4 while the Xbox One and Wii U failed to make it past the first stage.
Other points of interest:
- The PS4 received more votes than all Sega consoles combined
- The PC was just nine votes short of making the knock-out stages
- 1972’s Magnavox Odyssey was the oldest console to receive a vote
- Despite missing the knock-out stages, Nintendo’s Game Boy had more votes than any other handheld
The polling took place between August 18th and October 5th.
