Nintendo’s original Wii console significantly outperformed Wii U last month in terms of units sold, according to Wedbush analyst Michael Pachter.
Pachter has released a report in which he estimates the Wii U sold 55k units at US retail in April, a 19 per cent decline from March.
The original Wii ended up selling 75k units during the month, a 16 per cent drop from the same period a year prior. Nintendo also reached 185k 3DS devices sold in April, a 46 per cent increase in year-over-year sales.
Meanwhile, Pachter estimates Microsoft sold 205k Xbox 360 consoles and Sony moved 165k PS3 units during the period. The Vita was only able to move 30k units, a dip of 57 per cent from April 2012.
Official NPD figures are expected later this week.
