DICE Frostbite April Fool taunts Wii U

Developer DICE has in an almost cruel April Fool taunted Wii U owners with a mock announcement of support for the console.

The engine behind titles such as Battlefield 4, Need for Speed: Rivals and Dragon Age: Inquisition has famously been ported to almost all platforms except Wii U. Its lack of support for Nintendo’s machine has certainly played a part in the console missing out on a string of multiplatform EA titles.

Frostbite now runs on the #WiiU since it is the most powerful Gen4 platform,” the Frostbite Twitter feed said. Our renderer is now optimized for Mario and Zelda.

A later tweet added: Frostbite will power #HalfLife3, coming out summer 2014! #WiiU exclusive.”
