Winner to receive PS3 and Vita dev kits and support from Sony

Finalists named in Game Connection dev contest

Game Connection Europe has revealed the 15 unsigned games that have made it to its Selected Projects 2012 award shortlist.

The winner of the Best Project prize will receive hardware and development support from Sony Computer Entertainment Europe.

The successful nominees will also receive PS3 and Vita development kits, whilst two runners up will be invited to the SCEE London offices for a training day. This will offer lessons in technical support, QA and PSN business.

The announcement will be made following live presentations of each project to a panel of publishers, investors and industry experts.

“It’s vital to our industry that the major video game companies continue to support development at a grassroots level, so we’re very pleased and excited that Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has chosen to give its valuable support to the Selected Projects 2012 initiative,” said Game Connection creator Pierre Carde.

“We’re looking forward to the presentations and to once again seeing the enormous boost the Selected Projects initiative can give to unsigned projects.”

The winners and runners up will be decided at Game Connection Europe on December 6th in Paris.

As well as the awards, the organisers have said that over 250 individual game projects will be presented to “key” global publishing and distribution decision makers, with previous success stories including Limbo developer Playdead and Bulkypix.
