First Gran Turismo 5 DLC dated

11 months on from its belated worldwide release, Polyphony Digital is to release the first premium DLC for hit PS3 racer Gran Turismo 5.

Launching on October 18th, four individual DLC packs will be released for the game.

The Racing Car Pack, priced at $7.99, includes 15 cars such as the Red Bull X2011 Prototype ’11, three karts and Touring Car versions of the Dodge Challenger SRT8, Mazda RX-7, Nissan GT-R R35 and Toyota Prius.

The $4.99 Course Pack comes with the SPA-Francorchamps and a new karting track. The 90-item Racing Gear Pack includes a range of apparel such as helmets and suits for $2.99 and there’s also a 100-colour Paint Pack for $1.99.

Alternatively the lot can be had for $11.99.

Today also sees the release of the Gran Turismo 5 Spec 2.0 update. The 1GB+ free download makes a host of changes to the main game, including cockpit views for all cars and a brand new intro movie.
