Horrid Henry heads to 3DS

Europress is bringing a new Horrid Henry game to 3DS, MCV can reveal.

The smash children’s franchise – which encompasses books, radio shows, a BAFTA-nominated CITV series and a film – will also mark a new push into games with a Blue Ocean Horrid Henry 3DS Accessory Pack.

The 3DS game, Horrid Henry: The Good, The Bad and The Bugly, is due out in November. Developed by Asylum Entertainment, the side-scrolling adventure follows previous DS titles Missions of Mischief and Horrid Adventure, which arrived in 2009 and 2010 respectively.

Blue Ocean’s officially licensed Horrid Henry 3DS Accessory Pack will include a carry case and big stylus pen, and is compatible with the 3DS, as well as the DS Lite, DSi and standard DS.

The news comes ahead of Blue Ocean’s move into the Xbox 360 and PS3 accessories market this Q4. It has previously focused on Wii and DS peripherals.

Koch’s UK?marketing manager Pete Ballard told MCV: The franchise is a proven success across multimedia formats and we have great expectations for Horrid Henry’s 3DS debut. It’s the perfect gift for parents to keep their own little horrors occupied before and during the Christmas holidays.”

The game will allow players to explore three worlds as Henry himself while overcoming puzzles and defeating bosses in order to rescue a toy rabbit.

Horrid Henry on 3DS will be published by Europress and distributed by Koch Media in the UK. Europress and Blue Ocean are divisions of Koch.
