JAPAN: 3DS TV launches today

A new television service for 3DS has gone live in Japan today.

Nintendo has partnered with broadcasters Fuji Television and Nippon Television to create downloadable programs for the handheld under the new Itsu no Ma ni Terebi service.

According to Andriasang, the TV service is delivered through the 3DS’ Spot Pass system, enabling the handheld to automatically download 3D video content as and when it is released.

The programs will all be created specifically for the 3DS and can be accessed through the free Itsu no Ma ni Terebi app, which is available through the e-Shop. The will also be free of charge and accompanied by advertisements.

Programs announced so far include Enjoy Sport, information show Nikkan Topics, game show Idoling Sumo 3DS and nature documentary Nittele Doubutsu de Calendar.
