Konami announces Calling for Wii

Konami has announced a new horror game for the Wii that shies away from the genre’s typical mechanics in favour of a more experiential structure.

Calling traps players in a strange building and sees them searching for a way out using the Wii Remote as a torch. The Wii Remote also doubles as the protagonist’s mobile phone – as players progress, they receive mysterious calls by holding the Wii Remote to their ear.

The plot focuses on the Page Of Black website, which reportedly sends people into a coma after they access it. They then enter a state of limbo in a place known as ‘Border’, seemingly located between life and death. Players must solve the mysteries of this place and find a way to escape.

Calling is due in early 2010.
