Luke Hebblethwaite replaces Renevey, GMG hires new EVP of marketing and Nintendo boosts PR and marketing team.

UKIE appoints Luke Hebblethwaite asresearch analyst

Luke Hebblethwaite(pictured, right)has joined UK games trade body UKIE as a research analyst.

He replaces Rgis Renevey, who left the company earlier this year.

Hebblethwaite joins from the ecommerce team at Dr Martens, where he worked for the past year as a global analyst. Prior to this, he spent seven years in the music industry as the lead international analyst for UK licensing organisation PPL.

He said: As a lifelong gaming fan, I’m looking forward to getting stuck into the detail and uncovering the trends and insights that drive the industry.”

Green Man Gaming hires new EVP of marketing

The firm has appointed Stewart Pedler (pictured, right) as executive vice president of marketing. He will be in charge of Green Man Gaming’s brand, marketing, PR and communication activities.

Pedler previously led marketing teams for the likes of Thomson Reuters, Jessops and the Chartered Institute of Marketing.

Nintendo boosts PR and marketing team

Nintendo UK has added two names to its PR and marketing teams, both joining from the firm’s European head office in Frankfurt.

Matthias Hempfling has joined as marketing and PR director and will be in charge of marketing campaigns in the UK, under the supervision of general manager Simon Kemp. Hempfling previously was Nintendo’s European marketing manager.

Former senior European PR manager Kalpesh Tailor also joined as head of communications and will directly report to Hempfling.

Simon Kemp stated: With 2016 off to a dynamic start, we are delighted to have Matthias and Kalpesh join the UK team. Each brings not only an array of marketing and communications experience and Nintendo knowledge, but offer a fresh perspective on the UK market.

These appointments were announced as UK marketing boss James Honeywellleaves the company after 21 years.
