Current and former NBC execs reportedly approached to take on new role

Microsoft seeking TV exec for Xbox Live

Microsoft is looking to hire a TV executive to develop original new shows for its Xbox Live service, according to Bloomberg.

The move comes as the computing giant looks to expand its Xbox Live game and video service and turn the console into an entertainment hub.

Sources told Bloomberg that a partner at recruitment firm Stratis LLC, Tom Schneider, has been hired to conduct the search.

Current president of business operations at NBC Universa Marc Graboff and former NBC chairman Jeff Gasbin have apparently already been approached for the role.

The sources claim that If the right candidate isn’t found, an appointment will not be made for the role.

Microsoft have yet to respond to the reports.

The new TV service on Xbox 360 will include content from partners such as Time Warner, HBO, Sony and the BBC.
