Miyamoto banned from discussing hobbies

UK broadsheet

The Times

is reporting that Nintendo has ‘banned’ its legendary development guru Shigeru Miyamoto from discussing his hobbies with the outside world as the firm fears such talk may offer an insight into what he has planned next for the company.

Apparently, titles such as Brain Training, Wii Fit and Wii Music all stemmed from interests Miyamoto had in his personal life.

It was recently revealed that the upcoming Wii Music is the last game in Miyamoto’s grand Wii masterplan, suggesting that he will soon be turning his attentions to new projects for both Nintendo’s current machines and possibly some future ones.

The widely recognised developer has also confirmed that new Mario, Zelda and Pikmin games are currently in production, but owing to the firm’s current innovation hot-streak these are unlikely to be the only titles in the works.
