More UMD on Vita details released

Sony confirmed yet more details of how it intends to manage the compatibility between PlayStation Portable and PlayStation Vita.

It was revealed this morning that the company is allowing PSP owners to re-buy some of the their current UMD collection in digital form for use on the new machine.

A program for PS3 and PC called PS Vita Content Manager will allow users to transfer any game saves stored on their PSP to their new machine, Andriasang reports.

Furthermore, when a PSP game is booted up on Vita gamers will have a number of choices to make.

The right stick (which, of course, was not present on PSP) can be tweaked for a number of uses. Users can choose either the front or rear camera for compatible games.

There will also be a number of display options including bilinear filtering and colour space tweaking. Digital version of game manuals will also be accessible.
