Namco Bandai backs 3DS with ten-month ad push

Nintendo may still be spending heavily to promote the 3DS, but now third-party publishers are getting in on the act.

Namco Bandai has launched its ‘Inspir3Dgaming’ campaign to promote its 3DS games every month from June 2011 to March 2012. Ads will reach thousands of readers of specialist gaming publications Official Nintendo Magazine, GamesMaster and NGamer as well as a selection of children’s titles.

The first ad – running in June issues – will promote 3DS launch title Ridge Racer 3D. The game is a part of the Nintendo 3DS TV campaign, which got underway on May 16th.

Readers will also be able to scan a QR code on each print ad that takes them through to www.inspir3dgaming.com. By visiting this they can receive a free Namco 3DS case, while stocks last.

The campaign will be updated each month to promote different Namco Bandai 3DS games such as Pac-Man & Galaga: Dimensions.

This is a key focus for us to push our Nintendo 3DS titles throughout the year,” Namco Bandai UK’s product manager Blaise Rodier told MCV. We have a great line-up of titles and it’s been important for us to give awareness of all of them to the target market.”
