Nintendo fans can pre-register for smartphone app Miitomo this month

Miitomo – the unusual smartphone app from Nintendo – will launch next month in 17 countries, and fans can pre-register for the game by February 17th.

To pre-register, users just need to set up a Nintendo Account. Nintendo will launch its new Rewards Programme – which replaces Club Nintendo – alongside Miitomo in March.

Miitomo isn’t strictly a game. Utilising Nintendo’s Mii characters, Miitomo acts as a sort-of-social network, where users answer questions such as: Do you believe in aliens?” and If you saw a nose hair sticking out of your friend’s nose, what would you do?” And that way his or her friends can find out ‘surprising’ secrets about each other.

Nintendo says their second mobile game will be a little more familiar to Nintendo fanatics .Although there’s currently no release period set for that. Nintendo says it hopes to launch five smartphone games by March 2017

Nintendo’s new reward programme is called My Nintendo. A special Miitomo bonus will be offered to anyone in the UK that creates a Nintendo Account between February 17th and Miitomo’s launch in March. My Nintendo ‘aims to become much more than a traditional rewards program’ and ‘rewards users for interacting with Nintendo products and services in a variety of ways’.

Miitomo will launch on iOS and Android.
