Report: Multi-platform Lego The Hobbit due out next year

A Lego version of Peter Jackson’s three-part film adaption of The Hobbit will arrive next year across all major platforms, according to what appears to be leaked promotional material.

Polygon reports on a pair of photos (below) from the instruction booklet included in the upcoming Hobbit Lego sets.

One of the images features an outstretched lego arm grasping the ring of power, while the other is a shot of Bilbo, Thorin Oakenshield and Gandalf the Grey.

Both indicate the game is coming in 2014, and one specifically mentions PC, unspecified Playstaton consoles, unspecified Xbox consoles, Wii U, and 3DS as release platforms. Given the history of Lego titles, it’d be surprising if the game didn’t land on both Sony and Microsoft’s past and current generation hardware.

Warner Bros. published Lego The Lord of the Rings last year on a similarly robust lineup of platforms (excluding the recently released consoles).

The Hobbit’s second film, The Desolation of Smaug, premieres in theaters next month.
