Dead Island: Epidemic lands on Steam as Early Access title

Deep Silver’s Dead Island MOBA spinoff Dead Island: Epidemic has launched on Valve’s Steam platform as an Early Access offering.

While the final version of the game will be free-to-play, the closed beta version of the game currently available via the digital distributor is available in three different premium packages filled with various goodies – including the Patient Zero Pack, the Deadicated Pack and the Contagion Pack.

The $16.99 Patient Zero Pack is described as an entry pack that provides five unique weapons, three additional characters, the "Golden Sprocket Hammer,” boosters, in-game cash and points for character and gear points.

The $39.99 Deadicated Pack offers everything in the Patient Zero Pack, along with six Tier 2 weapons, the "Golden Precise Shotgun", the "Keghammer", a larger booster and bundle of character & gear points and in-game cash plus exclusive access to Sam B as playable character. On top of that, players will also receive additional items & characters once the game enters open beta and again at launch.

Finally, the $44.99 Contagion Pack contains all the aforementioned bonuses, along with three extra copies to gift to friends.

Dead Island: Epidemic’s official version is expected to release later this year.
