Devil May Cry the latest to join the HD collection bandwagon

Capcom will celebrate the tenth anniversary of its demon-slaughtering action series Devil May Cry with a HD compilation.

The new SKU – originally titled Devil May Cry HD Collection – will be released for Xbox 360 and PS3 in early 2012.

It will feature high-definition versions of Devil May Cry, Devil May Cry 2 and Devil May Cry 3: Dante’s Awakening Special Edition. The latter features extra content not found in the original release, including a new playable character and two new modes.

The first Devil May Cry was released in 2001 on the PS2. The latest entry was 2008 Xbox 360, PS3 and PC title Devil May Cry 4.

The series is currently undergoing a reboot, with the the revamped DmC: Devil may Cry due for release some time next year.
