Digital boss Ian Chambers leaves GAME

GAME has confirmed the departure of its digital boss Ian Chambers.

Chambers joined the retailer from IGN in July 2013.

GAME’s release says that Chambers is departing to pursue other opportunities, with Chambers himself adding: "I’ve very much enjoyed working at GAME throughout this period of growth, but now is the right time for me personally to leave to develop other business interests."

GAME CEO Martyn Gibbs added: "On behalf of everyone at GAME I would like to thank Ian for the valuable gaming strategic insight that he has brought to the business thanks to his experience in the games industry, and wish him every success for the future."

In an email sent to partners obtained by MCV, Gibbs added that its online team will on an interim basis now report to Charlotte Knight as it presses ahead with the development of its new digital content opportunities” while Andy Grainger will lead the business strategy team.

Our digital offering remains core to our business strategy,” Gibbs added. As a business, we are committed to making sure that we deliver an exceptional experience to the customer, whether they choose to buy and play physical or digital content.

I will continue to work closely with you all to ensure we keep unlocking great new digital content and experiences for our community.”
