Dreamcast returns in digital

Classic Dreamcast titles are returning with new features and in High Definition, Sega has announced.

Sonic Adventure and Crazy Taxi will be the first two titles out of the blocks and will be available digitally on XBLA and PSN this Autumn.

Dreamcast was launched in 1999 and has a software library of over 650. Classic Sega Dreamcast games include Shenmue, Jet Set Radio, Seaman, Phantasy Star Online, Samba de Amigo, Space Channel 5, Powerstone and Skies of Arcadia.

The Dreamcast is fondly remembered by a large community of dedicated fans as a console that was ahead of its time in terms of graphics, quality and online gaming” commented Sega West VP of digital business Haruki Satomi.

There are few things that are more requested from us than making Dreamcast classics available for download in today’s digital market place. We’re very excited to begin offering gamers our beloved Dreamcast titles again on the current console systems."

Both titles will be on display at Sega’s booth (2023) at E3.
