DSi sales have leapt 40 per cent every week since Nintendo lowered the trade price last month.
The drop in the handheld’s retail price to 129.99 is currently being promoted to consumers as part of a ‘Price Crash’ campaign.
Since the adjustment in trade price has been passed on to consumers, each of the previous three weeks have seen DSi sales increase by over 40 per cent week-on-week,” said Nintendo’s head of communications Rob Saunders.
As usual, the firm stressed that it does not directly dictate RRPs and stipulated that this price reduction only applies to the DSi – not DS Lite or DSi XL.
The platform holder has been running ‘Price Crash’ TV ads for the past week on multiple terrestrial and satellite channels during prime time programming.
