Early Street Fighter V players face data loss

Street Fighter V isn’t set to launch until tomorrow (Tuesday, February 16th), but it appears that some consumers already have their hands on the brawler.

However, those playing the title ahead of its official release are set to lose all of their save data. Capcom has warned that it is resetting its Street Fighter V servers today during the early evening, with all user progress and game data being lost in the process.

Stores including CEX are already selling copies of Street Fighter V(receipt below), andpublisher Capcom is inquiring about these retailers not adhering to the game’s street date.

We’re looking into reports on this matter as we are concerned that consumers playing early will have their game data wiped and all progress deleted due to the server resets taking place prior to launch,” Capcom PR manager Laura Skelly told MCV.

This is due to take place early evening today”
