ELEAGUE’s first season pulls in millions of viewers

The first season of ELEAGUE, Turner’s CS:GO league, concluded on Saturday evening and pulled in some incredible numbers.

There was more than 168,500 concurrent streams on Twitch for Saturday’s final, with approximately 48 million gross minutes of video consumption across TBS and Twitch. The final was also responsible for 2.9 million social impressions across Facebook and Twitter, making it a resounding success.

Across the whole season there was 897 million total minutes of video consumption from all broadcasts, with 25 million live video streams on Twitch and 19 million total viewers from the TBS broadcasts in the States.

TBS appears to have come out with a ton of new viewers thanks to ELEAGUE, as there was more than 3.4 million new viewers to the channel. TBS’ audience composition also grew 97% in the men 18-34 category and 51% in men 18-49 category when compared to the previous month.

Virtus Pro ended up winning the competition, comfortably beating Fnatic 2-0 in the final. The win nets them $390,000 and should give the team, who have been on a very inconsistent run in recent months, a good confidence boost. Elsewhere ELEAGUE’s Overwatch Open continues to roll on, with the second qualifier taking place over the weekend.
