CD Projekt RED opens new studio in Kracow

The Witcher developer CD Projekt RED has announced the opening of a new branch for the studio in Cracow, Poland.

The new team’s focus will be on reinforcing development on the independent company’s current projects: Wild Hunt, the upcoming third title of the hit RPG franchise The Witcher, and Cyberpunk 2077 – a futuristic RPG based on the Cyberpunk series of tabletop role-playing games.

A new studio, new people and new energy – we’re growing and we’re extremely excited that we can tap into the potential that Cracow has to offer,” said studio head Adam Badowski.

We want to continue to make better and better RPGs and the new studio is another big step in that direction. Cracow, one of the cultural and scientific centers of Europe, is a really special place that will leave a significant mark on our games.”

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is due out in 2014 for PC, Playstation 4 and Xbox One. Cyberpunk 2077 doesn’t have as much release info at the moment, with the developer stating the game won’t be ready until at least 2015.
