ESL hosting Heroes of the Storm regional at gamescom

ESL will host the European Heroes of the Storm Fall Regional at gamescom in August.

The competition will take place on the ESL main stage between August 17th and 19th. $100,000 is on the line, along with a spot at the Fall Championship that will be held at BlizzCon 2016.

Both Team Dignitas and mYinsanity have been directly invited to the event, based on their performances over the year. The other six teams will come from a series of open qualifiers, which take place on July 23rd, 27th and 30th. The top two teams in each of these open qualifiers will book a slot in the gamescom regional.

ESL is also hosting a $100,000 Overwatch event at gamescom known as The ESL Overwatch Atlantic Showdown. This will be the first Overwatch event with a six figure prize pool, and will feature the best teams from America and Europe. The Overwatch event will take place after the Heroes of the Storm event on August 20th and 21st.
