International jury announced for Gamescom Award 2012

The international jury has been announced for this year’s Gamescom Awards.

MCV and Develop editor-in-chief Michael French, amongst editors Guy Cocker from GameSpot, Tony Mott from EDGE, Christian Nutt from Gamasutra and more will make up some of the 20 editor-in-chiefs and personalities within the games industry who will sit on the jury.

Members come from across Germany and international territories and will choose winners for at least eight different categories for the awards.

Franko Fischer, communications manager for Gamescom said: The 2012 jury for the Gamescom award is a regular who’s who of gaming journalists.

We are pleased that the new concept has been so well accepted both nationally and internationally. That’s something we didn’t anticipate.”

Gamescom will be held in Colone, Germany from August 15th to 19th. Last year’s event attracted 275,000 attendees and more than 5,000 journalists.
