MCV Awards 2014: The finalists are revealed

Over 100 different UK games firms are in the running for an MCV Award.

You can find out who has won on April 10th at the London Lancaster Hotel, where our prestigious ceremony – hosted by comedian Adam Hills – unveils the winners.

The MCV Awards recognise success and innovation in the UK games business, across retail, digital sales, marketing and publishing.

Over 250 companies lobbied for consideration and after thorough deliberation we’ve whittled those down into the shortlist on the right.

PlayStation leads the way with 13 nominations, while there 10 nods each for Take-Two (across its 2K and Rockstar Games labels), Ubisoft and Warner Bros.

Game Retail Ltd also scores five nominations, just one of many retailers and publishers shortlisted for evolving multi-channel strategies.

We’re also today taking the wraps of an extra award, for Community Engagement, which has been added after passionate lobbying from those talking direct with gamers and audiences on a daily basis.

Next, our judging panel of over 100 UK games professionals will soon be invited to vote for the winners.

We’ll also again be asking journalists to pick a PR team winner after their careful consideration of achievements with the press in the past year.

The winners of the 25 awards will be announced on April 10th – as will the winner of our ultimate prize, the Grand Prix award.
