Five new accolades added to 2014 MCV Awards – event returns on April 10th

The MCV Awards return on April 10th, 2014 – with five new prizes up for grabs.

Updated and improved categories have once again widened the scope of the awards to reflect the changing market.

For the 2014 event prizes for Digital Campaign, Creative Agency and Publishing Partner – for those firms helping smaller publishers/developers or non-UK firms get their games out – have been added. They join last year’s new Retail Concept and Digital Retailer awards, plus new team awards for Export Sales, UK Media and UK Games Studio.

We have also added an Events Team prize to acknowledge the increasing emphasis on outdoor activity in 2013, plus refined our coverage of downloads into Digital Strategy.

You can lobby to be a finalist now, by emailing MCVlobbying@intentmedia.co.uk

In total there are 25 awards up for grabs, including favourites such as Specialist Retailer, Game Publisher, New Game Brand, Marketing Team and PR Team. The full list of categories is below – as are details on lobbying, securing your place, or becoming an event partner.

A guide to the lobbying process and the criteria will be published next week. The lobbying deadline is January 24th.

The MCV Awards 2014 are held at the Lancaster London Hotel. You can book your place now at www.mcvawards.com – or send booking questions to Kathryn.Humphrey@intentmedia.co.uk.

LOBBYING NOW OPEN

Want to win an MCV Award? Well, the first thing you have to do is put yourself forward for one.

Lobbying for the MCV Awards is now open. Next week the full criteria for each award will be published in MCV and available online at www.mcvuk.com and at www.mcvawards.com and reminders will be published in the magazine in January.

Putting yourself, your company, your game forward couldn’t be easier – simply send an email to mcvlobbying@intentmedia.co.uk stating which award or awards you want to be considered for and why you think your store/team/product should be considered.

The winners of the Special Recognition (awarded to an individual) and Grand Prix (awarded to a company) awards are decided by the MCV team, but we do accept suggestions and lobbying for consideration for these awards, too.

THE DEADLINE FOR LOBBYING IS JANUARY 24th.

TABLES, SEATS & PRICING

A seat at the MCV Awards costs 275, while tables of 10 start 2,699. Gold tables cost 2,899. The price of a ticket includes drinks reception, three-course dinner with wine, awards ceremony and after party.

PARTNERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

A range of sponsorship packages are available to suit every budget, all of which include exposure in the run up to the event, on the night itself, and afterwards in our dedicated post-ceremony coverage.

To discuss partnership opportunities in more detail please contact: Lesley Blumson – Lesley.Blumson@intentmedia.co.uk or call her on 01992 535 647.

HOW ARE THE WINNERS CHOSEN?

At the start of February the shortlist of finalists, selected after careful deliberation by the MCV team, will be unveiled.

After then, a judging panel of over 100 senior execs from across the industry will be invited to vote. Their role is confidential until after the event takes place on April 10th.

The PR Team will be voted for by a panel of over 100 members of the games media. They are asked to pick first and second choices to make for the fairest possible vote.

The Special Recognition Award will be decided by the MCV team, with guidance from all corners – including lobbying and the MCV Retail Advisory Board.

The winner of the Grand Prix Award is chosen by MCV.
