Circulation figures have been released the first six months of 2013, but once again games magazines aren’t amongst them.
For the past few years, specialist publications have opted out of the December to June reports by the Audit Bureau of Circulation (ABC), instead reporting their number for the second half of the year in February.
But there were still some gaming brands amongst the ABC figures for the six months ending June 30th, 2013.
The official Moshi Monsters magazine, while still the UK’s best-selling kids publication, took a slight hit with its readership dipping by 8.5 per cent year-on-year to 208,535.
It’s still far ahead of its nearest rival, the Bin Weevils magazine, which has 26,004 readers. Bin Weevils’ readership was down by 44 per cent year-on-year.
Meanwhile, GMA nominees Shortlist and Wired have actually seen their audience grow in the last six months.
Shortlist enjoyed a brief one per cent year-on-year increase, bringing its circulation up to 534,494. Wired, on the other hand, enjoyed a hefty 41.3 per cent boost, bringing its readership up to 41.3 per cent.
