Games to play major role at Toy Fair

Gaming will play a greater role in this year’s Toy Fair thanks to products based on some of the sector’s biggest names.

Toy Fair 2011 will once again take place in the Grand Hall at London’s Olympia venue, running from January 25th to 27th.

Up to 250 exhibitors are expected to attend, showcasing their hottest products for the next 12 months, and many companies among them will be focusing on merchandise based on game properties.

Esdevium Games will be launching a range of LittleBigPlanet 2 toys to coincide with the upcoming Sony title that hits shelves later this month. These include collectable figures of Sackboy and Sackbot, as well as keyrings featuring Killzone 3.

Meanwhile, Star Images will be showing a selection of detailed figurines based on various games, including smash hits Halo: Reach and Assassin’s Creed and upcoming titles Bulletstorm, Dead Space 2, Gears of War 3, and Crysis 2.

Finally, Hive Entertainment will unveil a range of toys based on more classic titles. The company will showcase its Mario Kart super size remote control car, Mario plush doll and Sonic the Hedgehog gacha toys.

This year’s Toy Fair will have 24,000 square meters dedicated to its exhibitors.

Retailers can pick up their free visitor badge and find out more about this year’s exhibitors at the event’s official website.
