Gran Turismo 5 Spec 2 detailed

Sticking true to its pledge to evolve the product, Sony studio Polyphony Digital has detailed the changes that will be implemented when the Spec 2 patch for Gran Turismo 5 is released on October 11th.

Following plenty of feedback from the GT5 community, interior views have been added to all cars, including the standard models – though the level of detail will vary from car to car.

Users will also be granted the ability to save their progress at any time during an endurance race rather than having to wait until the end. 11 NASCAR vehicles have been added to the game’s roster, as well.

Other additions include changes to the Photo Travel Mode, the reduction of load times and menu responsiveness, evolved AI and enhanced car physics and support for Logitech’s G25 and G27 steering wheels.

Polyphony has also confirmed that the first DLC for the game, featuring new cars and tracks, is nearing release.

The coming Gran Turismo 5 Spec 2 update is an update that contains the feedback from the users playing GT5 online every day,” series creator Kazunori Yamauchi stated.

We have added cars such as the newest NASCAR race cars, but many of the updates are those that improve usability and expand the field of game play.

I believed from the initial release of Gran Turismo 5 that it would be the users that would make the game grow thereafter, and we added things like interior views for the standard models because there was a lot of request for it from our users. You could say that this update is the shape and form of GT5 that was created through the opinions of our fans.”
