GTA V sells 2.25m copies in a week in the UK

Grand Theft Auto V has sold just over 2.25m games in the UK in just five days.

Chart-Track revealed the game beat Call of Duty: Black Ops by 250,000 units. The shooter sold 2m copies in five days back in 2010.

GTA V already broke day one records, selling 1.57m in 24 hours, generating 65m.

Almost 2,000 stores opened at midnight to mark the game’s arrival.

It is also one of the most critically acclaimed game launches of all time, with a Metacritic score of 98.
