Guinness World Records appoints new Gamer’s Edition editor

Stephen Daultrey has been named as the new editor of the Guinness World Records Gamer’s Edition.

Daultrey is the former web/gaming editor for Maxim and has previously written for Bizarre and Flipside, as well as CVG’s website.

The games industry is by far the most creative and exciting industry in the world, and the Guinness World Records Gamer’s Edition is the ultimate book for celebrating that imagination on a global scale,” he said of his appointment.

Whether its technical innovation, ground-breaking eSports tournaments or quirky human interest stories, it is our mission to recognise the broad range of achievements throughout gaming. I’m very excited to be part of GWR and can’t wait to strike up close relationships with publishers, developers and communities alike in a bid to continue setting new records and to recognise the gaming industry’s unrivalled creativity.”

Guinness World Records’ VP of publishing Jenny Heller added: We have huge ambition across the company for this book to become an even bigger bestseller – it is the definitive category-killer, and absolutely deserves its position as number one. The gaming industry is getting closer to us as much as we are doing everything we can to celebrate this incredible entertainment segment, and it is testament to this commitment that we are now in a position to create new roles solely around gaming.”

The 9th Edition of Guinness World Records Gamer’s Edition is currently due out on September 10th. The series has to date sold over 3m copies worldwide and is the bestselling videogames annual in both the UK and US.
