Halo Reach hits file-sharing sites

Full versions of Microsoft’s Xbox 360 shooter Halo Reach have arrived on internet file-sharing sites.

At the time of writing over ten different downloads are currently available.

The development follows news over the weekend that hackers had managed to obtain the full game from Microsoft’s press version of Xbox Live. Those responsible had previously stated that they were not really planning” to release the game to the wider public.

Microsoft has said that it is aware of claims being made regarding a security exploit related to Halo Reach and are aggressively investigating the matter”.

It’s not uncommon for games to arrive on the internet ahead of their release date, but for Halo Reach to be leaked almost a month ahead of its September 14th release is disappointing new for both Microsoft and retailers.
