iPhone 6 Plus users complain of bent handsets

It isn’t an Apple launch without some sort of alleged hardware fault storm.

Following in the footsteps of the famous #AntennaGate back in 2010, a new controversy that is increasingly being referred to as #BendGate is seeing users complaining of their iPhone 6 Plus handsets being bent by tight pockets.

The problem first materialised on MacRumours when a user complained of unwanted bending plaguing his handset after a long car trip.

#BendGate started to gather far more momentum, however, following the publication of an Unbox Therapy video below which shows the problem in action.

There’s no way of knowing whether this will turn into a legitimate issue for Apple or whether it’s simply a case of internet noise making a few isolated issues seem more problematic than they are. Certainly the iPhone 5 was hit with a few claims of bending, but the problem was never widespread enough to gain much attention.

Apple is yet to respond to the issue. Those 10m iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus handset sales have probably removed much of the sense of urgency.

Here’s the Unbox Therapy video:
