Kinects Star Wars game out Xmas 2011

Speaking at the launch gathering for Xbox 360 Kinect in London last night, the device’s creative director Kudo Tsunoda has confirmed that players should be able to get their hands on the still mysterious Kinect Star Wars game this time next year.

We have a Kinect Star Wars game coming out for next holiday [Christmas 2011],” he told the BBC.

I think you could just easily imagine being a Jedi and using Kinect to make you feel you’re part of a Star Wars experience, building yourself up into a Jedi. I’ve seen a bunch of the game and it’s super compelling.”

The game, which remains without an official name or credited developer, was first revealed at E3 last June. The brief snippet saw an on-stage actor appear to mime the drawing and ignition of a lightsaber – though the demo is perhaps now best remembered for a slight mistiming mishap.
