Koch Media to open Poland office

Koch Media has announced it’s expanding its business to Poland, with the opening of an office in Warsaw dedicated to the local market (Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Bulgaria and Rumania).

The new office will be opening its doors on October 1st and headed by industry veteran Maciej Turski as general manager of Koch Media Poland. He previously was senior publishing manager at Polish distributor CDP. He will be supported by the Koch Media HQ based in Munich, Germany, and the firm’s finance and logistics centre in Höfen, Austria.

Turski commented: “I am extremely proud and excited to be taking on this role within Koch Media. Poland has a wealth of opportunities that Koch Media are uniquely positioned to maximise the potentials. Of course we are still looking to fill the team completely, but we will be fully up and running on October 1st when we are set to release our first local versions!”

The announcement highlighted that Poland is the 7th largest economy in the European Union, before adding: “Poland has always been a subtle force in Europe, rich in developer talent, with a young dynamic, well-educated consumer market with increasing spending power. […] Private consumption is expected to strengthen in the second half of 2019 and in early 2020, and together with strong wage growth and favourable labour market trends, this is expected to support consumer confidence.”

Koch Media’s CEO Klemens Kundratitz said: “Part of Koch Media’s and Deep Silver’s success formula is to be close to the gamers and close to the game developers. By adding this new regional publishing office in Warsaw, we aim to be closer to the vibrant Polish development community as well as be able to directly offer our growing portfolio of games to all Polish gamers, no matter whether they by physical goods or digitally.

“For this, we are hiring experienced product, marketing and sales experts and look forward to mutually beneficial business relationships with Polish retailers and trade, as well as gaming media and influencers. Our ambition is to establish Koch Media as the number one choice for local publishing and retail distribution services in the territory, supported by our local marketing/pr staff, key account managers and local area representatives.”
