London Games Festival 2017 kicks off March 30th

Put the date in the diary, London Games Festival 2017 will run from March 30th to April 9th.

The event will kick off with EGX Rezzed at the Tobacco Docks, while the week will also feature the BAFTA Games Awards, which will take place on April 6th.

Other events include the return of Now Play This at Somerset House (April 7th to 9th) and the return of the Games Finance Market (April 4th to 6th). Further announcements will be revealed over the coming months.

Organisers Games London hopes to pull in 50,000 visitors over the eleven days. This year, the event attracted 38,000 people across more than 30 different events.

Games London (set up between Film London and UKIE, with backing from the Mayor of London) has already attracted 8.5m in potential investment to the capital.

London is a global destination for culture and creativity, and the interactive entertainment sector is playing an increasingly important part in this,” said Mayor of London Sadiq Khan.

Games London focuses on harnessing the city’s talent, with the ultimate aim of making London the world capital for video games. It’s fantastic to see the festival expanding in scope, reach and ambition, and connecting London-based talent with overseas investment partners – further proof that our city is open for business.”
