Lord of the Rings: War in the North due in November

Warner Bros has confirmed the latest action RPG set in the Tolkien universe will be on shelves before the year is out.

The Lord of the Rings: War In The North will be released for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC in November, and is expected to carry a BBFC rating of 18.

Warner has also announced a Collector’s Edition will be available at launch. The SKU will feature a behind-the-scene DVD, art book, downloadable content and more.

The game sees players explore the rarely-visited Northern regions of Middle Earth in a brand new storyline that takes place around the events of the novel and th films.

A unique three-player co-op system is the key selling point, with players tasked with managing the different strengths and weaknesses of the human, elf and dwarf that make up their squad.
