Mail.ru Group has announced My.Games, a new international gaming brand that will develop, publish and fund new games, including upcoming titles Lost Ark, Conqueror’s Blade and a mobile release of Warface. All of the company’s existing gaming projects published under the Mail.ru Group brand in Russia – or My.com internationally – will “now be united under My.Games”.
The company says the change comes after “rapid international growth” and a Q1 2019 revenue of more than $100 million. In 2018, 63 per cent of the firm’s gaming revenue came from international markets, making it “one of the top 50 global gaming companies in the world by revenue” with more than 540 million players – 90 per cent of which are based outside Russia.
“Over more than a decade, we’ve grown from a local developer into an international company that develops and publishes games, creates gaming services, holds large-scale esports tournaments and festivals, and invests in promising gaming projects,” said Vasily Maguryan, My.Games’ managing director. “We’re launching My.Games to unite our existing portfolio and refresh our thinking. By taking the time now to bring together our individual brands, we can continue to grow and succeed internationally. My.Games is a versatile business and we’re looking forward to what the future holds.”
My.Games currently offers 60+ “active games”, and more than 150 PC, console, and mobile titles across its entire gaming portfolio. The company boasts 13 in-house development and publishing studios and employs 1,500 staff across 10 regional offices worldwide. My.Games also plans to develop “its own gaming and media platforms” and will continue to organise gaming festivals and esports tournaments.
The Warface publisher announced last December that the game had hit the 5m registered players landmark for its console edition. Since launch, Warface console players have played more than 2.5m PvP matches missions and 126,000 co-op special operations – clocking up 10.3m hours of play in the process.
